  5. Digital Arts to develop Software for Acorn Publishing Platforms

  7. Digital Arts AG,  the Swiss owned software development and publishing
  8. company, has entered into an agreement with Acorn Computers Ltd to develop
  9. professional software aimed at the printing, publishing and graphic design
  10. markets.

  12. The software will make full use of the ARM-based 32-bit RISC architecture
  13. and the RISC OS multitasking operating system of the Acorn Archimedes
  14. platforms.

  16. Simon Woodward, Acorn's Business Unit Manager for Professional Sales said "I
  17. am very pleased with the creation of this new partnership as it will further
  18. increase our portfolio of professional software to enable Acorn to increase
  19. its presence in this market. It will also add further value to the recently
  20. signed agreement with Kodak which will enable Acorn products to support
  21. Photo CD in the near future and it is quite possible that aspects of the
  22. Digital Arts technology will actually be integrated into the Acorn RISC OS
  23. multitasking operating system."

  25. Digital Arts AG has developed professional publishing software for both the
  26. Nextstep environment and Atari platforms. Among the authors working for the
  27. company are the teams that developed such industry standards as Didot
  28. Professional and Retouche Professional (CD), which are used by many hundreds
  29. of professional prepress and graphics design companies in Germany, Austria,
  30. Switzerland and the Benelux countries.
